About Us

Nature of Your Neighborhood is a collaboration between Birds Connect Seattle, the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict, and the Seattle Bird Conservation Partnership. Our goal is to foster relationships between the people and the nature of their neighborhoods.

Birds Connect Seattle

Birds Connect Seattle advocates and organizes for cities where people and birds thrive. They lead Seattle’s Bird Conservation Partnership, which seeks to protect urban habitat, reduce urban hazards to birds, and engage people in conservation right where they live.

Capitol Hill EcoDistrict

The Capitol Hill EcoDistrict is creating a Capitol Hill that is more resilient, equitable, and vibrant. Set in the most densely populated urban village in the Pacific Northwest, the EcoDistrict partners with a range of community stakeholders, including residents, small businesses, community organizations, City agencies, and major institutions. They believe that a healthy community is defined by impact, accountability, and liberation.

Seattle Bird Conservation Partnership

The Seattle Bird Conservation Partnership was created in 2017 as part of the City of Seattle’s designation as an Urban Bird Treaty City. It is composed of about a dozen non-profit, educational, and government partners, including: Birds Connect Seattle, the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle City Light, Seattle Center, Progressive Animal Welfare Society, Seattle University, Urban Raptor Conservancy, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
